The agent assembled a comprehensive explanation of Apify by combining fragments from the official site (homepage, pricing page, Web Scraper and Actors landing pages) with external third-party resources and web search results. The official Apify site itself was poorly agent-readable—pages returned truncated HTML with minimal extractable text—forcing heavy reliance on search results and external review sites (Konabayev's blog, Use Apify docs, ScraperAPI's comparison guide) to answer core questions about pricing mechanics, cost structure, and competitive positioning. The task was satisfied, but Apify's own website did not surface the needed information in a form an agent could parse.

  • Steps [1], [3], [6], [7] returned the official site's pages but truncated HTML (4400+ chars cut off), with no meaningful content text extracted. The agent could not extract pricing details, feature explanations, or competitor positioning from these responses alone.
  • Steps [9] and [10] (web searches) returned snippets and URLs pointing to third-party sources; the search results themselves did not contain full answers but guided discovery to external resources.
  • Steps [12] and [16] (Konabayev's blog and Use Apify docs) were the actual content-bearing sources. These external resources provided concrete pricing formulas ($0.20/CU), hidden per-result fees, plan differentiation, and competitor comparisons—information not accessible from Apify's own truncated pages.
  • The agent explicitly cited 7 sources in its References section, but only 4 of them were Apify's own domain (apify.com and use-apify.com/docs); the other 3 were external (Konabayev, ScraperAPI, G2). This imbalance reflects that Apify's own site was not agent-readable.
  • The agent identified several content gaps on Apify's official site: lack of prominent CU pricing disclosure, missing plan tier differentiation details, no uptime guarantees or reliability metrics, absent real-world cost examples, and poor explanation of newer features like MCP.
  • Step [4] hit a 404 (platform page does not exist), indicating either a broken navigation link or the agent guessed a URL that does not match the actual site structure.
